You’ve been trying to make LinkedIn work (since it’s a platform that plays to your strengths and you heard there are better clients there), but despite getting random comments or messages, your efforts aren’t translating into enough new clients.
There is a quicker way to generate leads on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn Events.
I had the privilege of collaborating with LinkedIn when they first introduced the Events feature. Since then, I’ve hosted countless events from both my LinkedIn profile and company page, resulting in hundreds of leads.
Next to newsletters, LinkedIn Events give me the most ROI in my business. And when used strategically, they can do the same for you.
Why Events Convert Faster
There are over 1.3 billion users on LinkedIn.
But not everyone is ready to work with you.
- 3% are ready and have tried other approaches
- 20% are aware of their problem but passive
- 77% aren’t even aware
Why spend months posting to everyone when you can strategically target the 23% who are ready and aware? Events attract people who are already interested in your topic. That’s a very different energy from cold outreach or random content posting.
LinkedIn Event pages allow you to:
- Create your own event space on LinkedIn
- Invite relevant attendees from within and outside your network
- Communicate and engage with attendees
- Promote your event, host attendees and follow up – all in one spot
- Invite 1000 first-degree connections every 5 days
That’s proactive lead generation. Not hope marketing.
Setting Up a LinkedIn Event
You can create an event from your personal profile or your company page.
You’ll need:
- Date(s)
- Time
- Title
- Description
- Link (if applicable)
- Speakers
You can create a cover image (16:9 ratio works best).
You can set events up:
- Without registration (anyone can join live)
- With registration (Company Pages only — allows you to download attendee details)
If lead generation is your goal, registration is powerful.
Best Practice for Maximum Leads
The biggest mistake I see?
People set up an event… post once… invite no one… and wonder why two people attend.
Those leads won’t magically generate themselves. Be proactive.
- Share the event URL on your feed
- Send personalised DMs
- Share externally
- Invite speakers to promote to their audience
- Create the event 2 – 4 weeks in advance
And here’s where the magic really happens:
The DMs.
Before the event:
- Message attendees
- Encourage them to connect with fellow attendees
- Start conversations
After the event:
- Share the replay
- Ask for their biggest takeaway
- Continue the conversation
Hosting vs Being a Guest Speaker
Hosting your own event is an absolute no-brainer if lead generation is the goal.
When you’re a guest:
- The host collects the email addresses
- Not everyone is your ideal client
- You’re promoting their link
When you host:
- You get the registrations
- Attendees are interested in your topic
- You control the promotion
- You position yourself as the leader and authority
Is It Time for You to Use Events?
If any of this sounds familiar:
- You’re sick of wasting time and energy on the wrong people
- You’re nervous sending DMs
- You don’t want to sound salesy
- You’re tired of posting to crickets
- You’re not sure how to convert engagement into paying clients
Then events could be the aligned solution.
You don’t have to force yourself to stick to tactics that don’t work for you.
One of my clients, a communications expert booked 6 qualified leads after we did a Live event together and went on to secure several clients within weeks.
LinkedIn Events are powerful. But only when they are part of a simple repeatable process.
Serious about generating 5 qualified leads a week in 30 minutes a day — in a way that feels aligned? Book your free consult and let’s build your simple repeatable process.
BIO
Hi, I’m Jen — The LinkedIn Lead Jen 😉
I’m the LinkedIn strategist and mentor for driven midlife women in business who are ready to move beyond unpredictable word of mouth and marketing that feels messy, draining, or simply not worth the effort.
I help you generate five qualified leads a week from LinkedIn in as little as 30 minutes a day — using a simple, repeatable process that works with your personality, energy, and strengths.
Because making LinkedIn work isn’t about posting more or trying to be louder than everyone else.
You need three things:
- A profile that positions you as the obvious solution
- A repeatable method to grow your audience strategically
- A connection strategy that converts into real clients
If you’re missing any of these on LinkedIn, everything falls apart.
Since 2017, I’ve supported +700 of midlife women to stop forcing tactics that don’t suit them, show up as the authority they already are, and attract warm leads through genuine connection — not icky cold outreach or performative marketing.
My signature PACT® Blueprint gives you the structure and clarity to make LinkedIn work sustainably:
✨ PRESENCE — Position your profile to attract the right clients
✨ ACTION — Know who to connect with and when
✨ CONNECT — Build real relationships that lead to opportunities
✨ TRACK — Stay consistent without overwhelm
You’ve already done the work to become brilliant at what you do. Now it’s time for your LinkedIn to reflect that and bring the right people to you.
